My Hemorrhoids are Almost Gone!!

I used to have really bad hemorrhoids. Thought about having them surgically removed, but the doctors told me that they always grow back.

I had a little boy back in 1994 and used baby wipes to keep him clean. I found that I liked using baby wipes as well to keep me clean.

After a while I noticed that the reason I had hemorrhoids was because I wipe too hard. The wipes cleaned so I would not have to wipe too often.

At public restrooms I had no wipes. So I would wet some paper towel with cool water and dab that onto the toilet paper. Instead of wiping my bottom, I would dab. The cool water would help to take the swelling out of my hemorrhoids, clean me better, and I would not have to dab or wipe as often. (I really, really try not to wipe because that is what irritates the skin & causes the hemorrhoids I believe).

It has been a couple years and the external hemorrhoid I had is gone! The internal one has minimized significantly. Try it! Cool water on the toilet paper, dab. Then a piece of dry toilet paper to dab away the wetness. Usually I loop through this process about 3 times.

High blood pressure

Drugs prescribed by Physicians reduce blood pressure. The best way to reduce is to remove the cause. High pressure of blood is only a symptom of the matter, which causes it and the way to dealing with it is to remove the poisons. Again, the ingestion of fruits and vegetables instead of a diet is helpful in ridding the body of the poisons, which cause high blood pressure. A hypertension patient, should start the process of healing by living on fruit and vegetables for at least a week. The best course would be to take only fruits at five hourly intervals only thrice in the day. Breakfast should consist of oranges, lunch of guava and dinner of tomatoes, or apples. Fruits like oranges, apples, pears, mangoes, guava, pineapples, raspberry, and muskmelon are the best diet in such cases. Bananas and jack fruits should be avoided. After a week of ‘fruits only” diet, milk should be added. No milk except for soy or almond. It should be boiled only once. After two weeks, the patient can be permitted cereal in his food. The best would be porridge. This is one of the best diet for high blood pressure.

Another effective home remedy for high blood pressure are the vegetables are also good for a patient of high blood pressure. A salt free diet is the best; if you must take it, take it 25% of the normal quantity. Vegetables should preferably be raw. If they are cooked, cook them with the rind on and do not let their natural juices burn in the process of cooking vegetables like cucumber, carrot, tomatoes, onion, radishes, cabbage and spinach are best taken in their raw form. They may be cut into small pieces and sprinkled with a little bit of salt and the juice of a lemon added to them in order to make them more palatable. The second step is to deal with a constipated bowel. During the period that fruits are the mainstay of the patient, he should take a warm water enema every day in order to clear his bowels. This is one of the useful natural remedy for high blood pressure.

If the patient is too sick for exercise, let him massage body. Massage should be away from heart and towards the limbs and their extremities. This is one of the effective home remedies for high blood pressure.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

The Diet that Seems to be Working for me Now - the Knibble Diet

So I need to lower my blood pressure and reduce my sugar. I've come up with a diet that has allowed me to lose 6 lbs in 4 days!

In the morning I cut up bananas, apples, carrots, and celery and leave them on a plate in the kitchen. I cut these up into 2-3 cm pieces. Whenever I have a little bit of an appetite, I eat a piece or two.

Also I started exercising again. Strength one day, and aerobics the next. On my strength days I just do push ups, sit ups, back ups, knee bends, and toe raises. Beforehand I do the yoga "salute to the sun" routine. I do a set of the strengths in the morning, and another set in the evening.

On aerobic day I usually ride my elliptical. I found it's important to break a sweat, and run for at least 45 min.

For lunch and dinner I have a low-sodium squash soup that you can purchase from Trader Joes. I mix in some Soycatash that you can also purchase from there. In the afternoon I have a Soy Protein shake that I mix in soy milk. I also have one of these shakes in the evening an hour or two before I go to bed.

So knibbling, and exercising will become my lifestyle change.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Saw something interesting tonight. Saw a white dude stealing from a black cabbie. I was leaving my hotel and the cabbie was yelling at the guy that he better pay him or he's calling the cops.

Racism is bad in the United States, but worse, much worse in other countries. I don't know if that's supposed to make me feel better or not. I guess it helps take away some of the pain.

The pain I feel when the white business owner starts pretending to be pricing things near me when I walk in the store. Women locking themselves in cars when I walk by.

In my head I'm thinking, I'm a businessman! Entrepreneur! Masters Degree! I rely on me! But people just see the outside. Black.
I Lost 5 Pounds!!!

So what did I do? I tried the Usana 1-week challenge through
my buddy Bill Oviatt (http://billoviatt.usana.com ).

This involved drinking 3 shakes per day, 2 healthy oat bars, and plenty of fruits and vegetables.

It's worked so well, that I'm continuing the diet until I get down to 185 lbs.

Why is it so important for me to lose weight? I would like to get my blodd pressure down, and take some weight off of my achilles tendon. My right achilles tore when I was playing racquetball a couple years ago and being lighter will take some of the load off of my left achilles.

I'm not losing the weight as quickly because on weekends there are parties. As long as I moderate, I'm in good shape, and then on Sunday I start again. 3 protien shakes, healthy oat bars, and fruits & vegetables.

I am never hungry on this diet. The key for me has been not eating an entire health bar all at once. I take a small bite every 20-30 minutes. That's enough to quell any hunger pangs until the next shake.

Because I'm allergic to milk and peanuts, I drink Soy protein, and eat health bars without peanuts (almonds are ok...I'm not so sure about Walnuts for me...I think I am also slightly allergic.)

Anyway I hope to be 185 lbs by next June 2010 so I will keep you updated from time to time.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

I've been spending my days looking for ways to lose weight.

I tried the Abs Diet, Eat Right for Your Type, and the Lemonade Diet without long-term results. I need a serious life change.

I want to reduce salt, and since there is so much salt in meats, I'm moving to be vegetarian. Won't be going vegan, so I'll still eat cheese and eggs.

It's not as hard as I thought because I cook lots of frozen veggies. I keep them in the office and cook 1 cup for snacks in the afternoon. If I'm in the office late I'll have some corn, peas, and broccoli all cooked up in the microwave. I add some cheese to the broccoli.

I also keep a bag of frozen yam fries in the microwave if I want something a little more substantial. I add no ketchup. Too much sodium.

My weight is 215 today. I'm thinking to lose weight 5 lbs at a time. Maybe that's the best way to get to 195.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Reducing High Blood Pressure

Something that I've been doing a lot more lately is cooking frozen vegetables when I want a snack. Mixed vegetables, corn, green beans, whatever have been quite filling for an evening snack instead of a chicken sandwich or piece of cake.

Also something unexpected has happened. My blood pressure has started to decrease! I am still a little above normal, but this change has made a huge benefit.

Just make sure that you do NOT eat the canned vegetables. They have 10 times as much sodium as frozen.

I got this idea because I saw a guy at my office cook frozen vegetables in the microwave as I was grabbing my daily Snickers bar.

I said, "Ok, that looks easy, and it's cheaper too!" Okay, it's better for me as well.

I've been starting to mix it up so that it doesn't get boring. Corn one day, mixed the next, green beans on Friday.

I hope it helps you. I'd love to hear your comments. I know that the garlic pills, low-dose aspirin, fish-flax-borage tablets, vitamin C, calcium haven't been helping me much.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.
